We are big pink grapefruit fans here at Good HQ and this recipe is just beyond delicious! Make a huge jug and get your evening off to a flying start - we wouldn't recommend them for lunch unless you seriously don't have anything to do, say or think for the rest of the day!
You must use pink grapefruit juice because, as you know, it's sweeter than the yellow variety and so refreshing with the lime.... freshly squeezed is always best of course.
1 cup pink grapefruit juice - 2 or 3 fruits
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice - about 4 limes
1 cup triple sec orange liqueur
2 cups ice
1 cup silver tequila
agave or simple syrup to taste
1 lime cut into wedges
Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each glass and dip into the salt. If you really don't like drinking from a salted glass then add a good sprinkle of salt to each glass before pouring, it really lifts the flavour. Making this up is very easy, simply combine the pink grapefruit juice, the fresh lime juice, the orange liqueur and the ice. If you like your margaritas slushy then do this in a blender, if you don't then just pour them all into a pitcher over the ice. Then add the tequila. Pour into your glasses; this makes four smallish tumbler glasses but obviously you will need to multiply the amounts if you want to use larger glasses or have more friends!
